Adeline Ruth Bolser
August 3, 1929 to November 23, 2025
Adeline, age 96, passed peacefully on November 23, 2025, from congestive heart failure. Adeline was the beloved wife of Joseph Bolser; dearest mother of David Bolser and Mary Bolser, sister to the late Arnold Petsche, and daughter of the late Ernst and Julia Petsche.
Adeline was the daughter of immigrant parents from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, attended John Adams High School, and graduated from Ohio University with a degree in sociology.
At 16, she met her future husband, Joseph, at a high school dance. Her father refused to let her get married until she was 21, at which time Joseph was in the Army Air Force. After their wedding, Adeline worked at Wright Patterson Air Force base in Dayton, Ohio, and eventually went to Japan to join her husband who was stationed at Itazuke Air Force Base in Fukuoka City on the island of Kyushu. Her son David was born on the Air Force Base in 1953.
They returned to the United States, in 1954. Eventually, Adeline worked for the child welfare board in Columbus, Ohio, placing children in foster homes. She loved working with young folk. In the early 60's Adeline earned her Master's Degree in psychiatric social working. Mary was born in 1964. The family moved to St. Louis, Missouri, in 1966. Later in life, Adeline worked as a social worker in the Wellston school district, Malcolm Bliss Mental Hospital, and the state mental hospital.
Fossil hunting, knitting, and crocheting were her hobbies. She loved her grandchildren (Diana and Alex) and daughter-in-law (Janet) with all of her heart and got a long with everyone.
