Obituary

Barbara Moser was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world on February 10, 2022, after a brief stay in the hospital while surrounded by family and friends. She was 85 years old and a resident of Maryland Heights, Missouri for 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bobby and Alice Jones, her husband Joe Moser, and sister Carolyn Taffenhart. Barbara was born in 1936 in Hickman County, Kentucky where she graduated salutatorian of her high school class. She and Joe were married in 1956 and had two children: Joe David and Robert Glen. She leaves behind six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren as well as nephews, nieces, and countless friends. She will be especially missed by her closest friend and caregiver Dorothy Brown.

Born in the heart of the Great Depression she learned about hard work and dedication to people. She was an entrepreneur, running a restaurant in the 1950's and a video rental store in the 1980's and 1990's. She and Joe moved to St. Louis in 1958.

Barbara graduated valedictorian from DePaul School of Nursing in 1975 and worked at Christian Hospital until her retirement in 2002. She worked as charge nurse, in infection control, the ICU neurology, and orthopedics. She helped open the hospital providing care to countless people across the St. Louis region.

She loved to spend time cooking special meals for her family, baking cakes for holidays and birthdays, gardening and trout fishing. Barbara was also an avid reader and often went through a book each day.

She lived a full and wonderful life and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Visitation is scheduled for 10:00 AM, February 24, 2022 with funeral service following at 12:00 PM. Visitation and funeral service will be at Collier's Funeral Home, 3400 North Lindbergh Blvd. Interment will follow immediately after at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
