Bonita June Smith's surviving family, named as follows: her first born daughter, Lorie Denece Rankin-Mah, husband Johnathan Mah; their children Amy Davis, and her children Ella, Maddie and Caleb; Crystal Young, husband Lance Young; Ashley Taylor, husband Christopher Taylor and their daughter Addison; Bonita's second born daughter, Donna Linn Lough, husband Dennis Lough and their children David Braun, Anthony and Andrew (deceased twin at birth), Steven Lough, Shane Lough, wife Natalie and their children Brynley and Hailey, Sarah Soyak, child Noah; Timothy Lough; Bonita's third born son, William Risher III, "Bill", wife Dawn Risher and their children, Daniel Risher, Kevin Petterson, wife Mary Petterson; Dear Sister, Gwen Rice, husband Vaughn Rice; and their children Lydia, Mark and Anna and their families; Also Included are dear cousin's, nieces and nephews.
Bonita June Smith was born to the late Lester Norman Rankin and Visa Vivian Waller-Tucker in St Louis, Missouri. Her deceased sibling include, Lester Norman Rankin Jr, Richard "Pete" Rankin and Vivian Annett Gow. Bonita was a working homemaker, Scout leader, bible school teacher, blessed with a large and loving family. she married her best friend and School mate, William Risher Jr. "Larry" December 26th, 1956. They both raised their three children with love, in a christian home with the joy of Jesus Christ in their family life. They took long family trips to see the natural beauty of several states in the USA.
Bonita was re-married into a loving relationship to Calvin Smith until his death May 4, 2011.
Bonita was a great cook and invited everyone at family gatherings. She was loving, high spirited and spoke her mind, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. She belonged to the Bridgeton garden club. She loved spending time with her wonderful neighbors, living in the same neighborhood for a good portion of her life. Her home was blessed with beautiful flower gardens that surrounded her home. Her beloved dog Annie, was there by her side always. Bonita will be dearly missed by her best friends from school, that met often and supported until her until her last days.
A Service for Bonita June Smith will be held at Collier's Funeral Home, 3400 N Lindberg Blvd, St Ann, MO 63074 Open to the public at 10:00 am and the service at 12:00 pm Thursday, July 14th 2022.
Memorial contributions may be given to Randy's Rescue Ranch
