Obituary

Bruce E. Kriegsies of Branchburg, NJ, passed away December 30, 2021 at the age of 67.

Bruce was born on November 8, 1954 to Henry and Rose Kriegsies in St. Louis, Missouri and formerly of Oklahoma City and New York City before moving to Branchburg in 2005. He was a graduate of Normandy High School and the University of Missouri, where he developed his love for reporting and journalism. Bruce worked as a broadcast journalist and advertising representative at KOKH-TV/KGMC-TV in Oklahoma City, MMT Sales in New York, and Arbitration Mediation & Management, a business he created and owned. He also worked as a sales representative for Eagle Television Sales, Bloomingdale's, and Comcast Media.

A devout Catholic, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Council 443 of Inwood, Manhattan before becoming a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church in Somerville, NJ. Bruce loved all sports, but especially loved baseball. He spent many days at ballparks across the country cheering on his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. Bruce was proud of completing the NYC Marathon three times, a pastime he passed on to his son, Stephen. He also had a passion for the stage, starting with the lead role in his high school production of Carnival, all the way through his performance of Mozart's Requiem with the Somerset Hills Community Chorus in 2017.In his spare time, he enjoyed taking trips down the Jersey Shore, reading about American history and current events, and watching old movies.

Surviving is his son Stephen Dowd, and siblings Christine Elmore, Denis Kriegsies, Jo Ann Boyd and Brian Kriegsies, as well as his partner Edith, who provided great care for him in his time of need. He will be sadly missed by all, including his many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
