Carolyn Louise
Rooney
Jul 17, 1952 — Feb 1, 2022
Carolyn Louise (Stone) Rooney was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on February 1, 2022 at the age of 69.
She was born to Ralph Sr. and Julia Stone on July 17, 1952 and was the youngest of her four siblings.
She met her husband, Joe, while they both worked at the Northwest Plaza mall in their youth. They married in 1973 and had five children, who went on to give her six grandchildren. She supported her husband, children, and grandchildren selflessly throughout her life with patience and grace.
Carol was a devout and dedicated Christian woman who loved the Lord. She attended church faithfully and regularly gave her time to assist in church functions. She was the type of person who never knew a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone, and often did. Despite her talkative nature, she was usually the more reserved of her family, in contrast to her more raucous husband and children.
Uncommonly compassionate, her personality was such that she emanated warmth and kindness wherever she went. She was well known for giving great hugs (whether you wanted one or not), and enjoyed and took great care in creating and sending custom cards to friends and family for almost any occasion, taking particular care to send them with regularity to people that were going through a difficult time. Over the years, she made countless individuals feel loved and remembered, often when they needed it most.
Carol lived a life of quiet humility and unquestionable integrity. In an often times cold and uncaring world, her service to others and empathy burned brilliantly, motivating others to pass on her natural kind-heartedness, and helped to give strength, comfort, and encouragement to all those that knew her.
Her absence has created a considerable void we all are now forced to gain the strength to bear. In losing her and her vibrant and seemingly limitless warmth, the world has grown a bit colder and drained of color. Perhaps by doing our best in following her example, her life can continue to inspire us all to bring some of that warmth and vividness back.
She will never be forgotten by those so extremely fortunate to have known her.
She is with her Savior in heaven now, and awaits all of us who trust in Jesus as well.
A service to celebrate her life will be held in her honor on February 19th at 2pm at Faith Baptist Church. 12061 Natural Bridge Rd Bridgeton, MO 63044
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to her church, mentioned above.
