Dale Clarence Portell, passed away in his home with his wife, by his side. He was born to his loving parents Donald Portell and Helen Payne on January 7th, 1948. Dale is survived by his wife Frances Portell, by his son Christopher (Carey), his daughter Amy, and his grandson Steven. Dale was the loving brother to Pat (deceased), Karen Bailey (deceased), James (deceased), Steve (late Joann), Twins Dennis and Derril (Phyllis), John, Michael (deceased), David (Karen), and Half Brother to Keith (deceased) , and Joe DeGonia. Dale was preceded in death by his brothers Michael, Keith, Pat, James, and sister Karen Bailey. Dale was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, Cousin, Nephew, coworker, and friend to many.

Dale graduated from Pattonville High School in 1968. On June 20th, 1970, Dale married his high school sweetheart, Frances Yandell. They enjoyed 52 years together before Dale's passing. Dale was a Sergeant in the Air Force before he was Honorably Discharged in 1972. Dale worked for
McDonnell Douglas, Ozark Airlines, TWA, and retired with American Airlines. Dale was member of Fee Fee Baptist Church. He taught children's sunday school, was involved in numerous projects for the church, and was honored when asked to become a deacon. Dale was always there when someone needed a helping hand, especially his brothers and sister. Dale loved watching NASCAR and Cardinals baseball, baking, and spending time with friends and family.

Visitation Thursday, March 16, 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Collier's Funeral Home, 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd (St. Ann) and Friday, March 17, 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service 11:00 AM at Fee Fee Baptist Church, 11330 St. Charles Rock Rd (Bridgeton). Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
