David T. Owsley, 43, of Marion, IN, beloved son of Tom and Patti and younger brother of Chad, passed away Monday, August 30, 2021.

We kindly ask that you see David as we see David. He dedicated his life to helping others improve the holistic self. From physical fitness and nutritional health to spiritual wellbeing, David gave all of his energy to helping people be the best version of themselves. He committed years to sculpting his physical form into the quintessential Vitruvian form of man. Know that the size of his loving heart and the strength of his caring reach exceeded his physique on his very best day, at his very best performance.

David was an athlete and a champion. He loved his job as an arborist, a physical trainer, and a nutritionist. He would not shy from any challenge. He would not shirk any responsibility. David was a giver. He gave freely and readily of himself, his heart, his love, and his loyalty. Even in death, David never stopped giving. He gave the ultimate gift of selflessness when he chose to be an organ donor, and give another the gift of life. The purity of his altruism has inspired and motivated so many.

Know that David will be missed dearly, that this place without him would feel a little less bright except that he continues to shine brightly from afar, and that we endeavor to love him as much as he loved us so easily.

David is preceded in death by his father, maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Viola Kavanaugh, fraternal grandfather, Larry, and fraternal aunt, Debbie Moore.

He is survived by his mother, Patti, older brother, Chad, nephew, Caleb Cook, fraternal grandmother, Cecil June, fraternal aunt, Donna Lindquist, maternal aunt and uncle, Merlin and Connie Laney, maternal aunt, Lori LaBarbera, maternal aunt and uncle, Robert and Janice Welch, and many loving cousins.

David was an organ donor, consider donating life. Patti will be creating a memorial garden in David's honor. Please consider perennial flowers or plants.
