Obituary

Deacon Albert C. Williams July 16, 1936 – November 17, 2025

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Deacon Albert C. Williams entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the age of 89.

Albert was the beloved husband of the late Mickey Williams and the cherished father of Margaret Lane (Daniel K. Lane), Timothy Williams (Natalie), John Williams (Amy), Judith Fraser (Shawn), Anne Pennell (Ronnell), Constance O'Connell (Jim), and Christine Gipson (Derek). He was a devoted grandfather to Kerns Lane, Ted Lane (Audrey), Clare Lane Donovan (Billy), Patrick Lane (Courtney), Meaghan Williams, Kaitlyn Whitley (Bryan), Gavin Williams, Sean Williams, Lochlan Fraser, Nolan Fraser, Tess Pennell, Catherine Pennell, Maggie O'Connell, Molly O'Connell, Katie O'Connell, Henry Gipson, Charlie Gipson, and Thomas Gipson, and a proud great-grandfather of Scarlett, Kai, Niko, Raven, Maddie, Will, Lucy, Danny, Scotty, Catherine, and Laney. He was the loving son of Adiene Nelson and Clarence Williams, and a dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Albert grew up an only child, and because of that, he often spoke of how blessed he felt to have a large, close-knit family. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the joy of his life. He never missed a chance to share a story, a warm memory, or one of his signature "Pop" jokes.

Throughout his life, Al explored many paths — including service to his country, drafting, politics, and sales. It came later in life, but he found his true calling in ministry. Ordained into the diaconate on June 7, 1997, he served faithfully at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clayton, Missouri, until 2017. He married four of his daughters and baptized many of his grandchildren, along with countless others. He also loved volunteering with Food for the Poor and poured his heart into serving those in need in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, and Belize. It was through this mission work that he helped bring clean water, food, housing, education, medical care, and economic opportunity to those impacted by poverty and disaster.

Albert lived with humility, simplicity, and a profound faith that guided every choice he made. His greatest passions were his family, his wife Mickey, and a life spent in service to others. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and a deep love that will continue to echo through the generations he cherished.

Services Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 22, from 11:00 AM until the start of the Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 106 N Meramec Ave, St. Louis, MO 63105. Private interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
