Dolores Catherine Di Rie (nee Merritt) Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Beloved wife of the late Alphonse G. Di Rie; dearest daughter of the late Alva and Edna Merritt (nee Willmann); sister of Earl Merritt; mother of Helen (Gerald) Ambrosecchia, Earl (Sheila) Di Rie, Mary Di Rie, Allan (Christine Kippy) Di Rie, Paul (Pamela) Di Rie, Barb Cooper (Rick), Denise (Jeffery) Tucker; grandmother of 15; great grandmother of 21; Great Great Grandmother of 4; our dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Dolores Started working at the age of 17 at Southwestern Bell as a switchboard operator, ultimately leading to her moving to New York. She was then a homemaker and mother. In 1965 she started at Sears Roebuck in women's fashion. When they closed her division in 1996 she was hired by Frick Company for two years before her retirement.

In April of 1990 Dolores was elected to the West Overland Fire District board of directors. She was later appointed to the St. Louis County Fire Academy until she was not re-elected in 2008.

Visitation Friday, April 5th, 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Collier's Funeral Home, 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd (St. Ann). Funeral Mass Saturday, April 6th, 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Church, 3130 Parkwood Ln (Maryland Heights). Interment at Calvary Cemetery (St. Louis).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions mat be given to the Back Stoppers .
