Dorothy A.
Behrle
Jul 29, 1931 — Dec 22, 2022
Dorothy Ann Behrle (nee Thebeau) 91, went to meet the Lord Thursday, December 22, 2022.
She was born in St. Louis to Catherine and Gilbert Thebeau, the oldest of 8 Children. She graduated from St. Vincent High School, Perryville MO, where she met the love of her life, Earl Behrle, who passed just 5 short weeks ago. They were married for 72 years and had three loving children: Terry, Gary and Gail. She was mother-in-law to Denise, Lynn, and Terry McAnany. She was Gram to Shawn & Michelle, Ken & Emily, Brandon & Ashley, Kevin, Lauren & Colin, Kelly & Chris. She was a loving great grandmother to 17 and was known as "Gram" to all.
Throughout her life, Dorothy lived a life of service to others and her churches, Holy Ghost, St. Mary's, Holy Trinity and recently St. Peter's in St. Charles. When her sons were young, she became involved in Cub Scouts so that they could participate. After her sons were finished with cub scouts, she continued working with the scouts for another 40 years. She even created a program for at risk boys, which continues today. She achieved many awards throughout her scouting days. Dorothy was involved in local issues and served on the Bridgeton Zoning and Planning Committee. While partaking in these activities she also worked full time. Dorothy retired from Monsanto as Director in the Executive dining area, having served presidents, vice presidents and executives. Cooking and serving others were a large part of her life. After retirement she still felt the need to be of service to others and was Director of the Senior Center for the Holy Trinity 50+ Club, keeping seniors involved and included. She loved video poker and traveling with her husband. She was a dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin, godmother, and friend to many.
Gram was a person of service and devotion; she touched many hearts and helped many people who needed it. Her fierce and sassy spirit made this world a better place and she will forever be missed by all who crossed her path. We are comforted by the fact that she has joined the love of her life in heaven.
