Douglas Alan Maddox, 82, of Maryland Heights, Missouri, passed away on February 26, 2026.
Doug was born December 1, 1943, in Belleville, Illinois, to William and Clara Maddox, where he spent his early years. As a young man, he proudly answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps. Doug served during the Vietnam War, demonstrating the courage, dedication, and sense of duty that defined his character throughout his life. His service to his country was a source of pride for him and his family.
Following his military service, Doug built a long and successful career with Hitachi Data Systems, where he was known for his hard work, reliability, and commitment.
Doug enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life and especially loved boating, shooting, hunting, and trains. He appreciated the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life, and he cherished the time he spent with family and friends.
Doug is survived by his sons, Curtis Maddox and his wife Melissa "Lisa" Maddox, and their children Camden, Jayden, and Ashden; William "Bill" Maddox and his girlfriend Deirdre Honaker; and Christopher Maddox and his son Jacob. He is also survived by his stepsons, Michael Fugatt, his late wife Lisa (Palmisano) Fugatt, and their children Liam and Quinn, and Timothy Wolfenden; his sisters, Chrissy Callaway and her husband Robert, and Cindy Hicks; and his longtime girlfriend, Deborah Schroeder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Clara Maddox.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on March 17, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Collier's Funeral Home, 3400 N Lindbergh Blvd, St. Ann, MO 63074.
Doug will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him.
