The beautiful, sweet soul of Elizabeth Groneck McLaughlin, 81, was called into heavenly peace on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at DePaul Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Liz was born to John E. and Alma Groneck in St. Louis on March 6, 1941. She attended St. Engelbert's Grade School for her early primary years. After the passing of her mother, Liz went to boarding school at St. Elizabeth Academy along with her sister Barbara.

Liz worked many years as a secretary at UMSL. She then went on to work at Hazelwood school district.

Liz was happily married to Richard "Denny" McLaughlin for 30 years. He preceded her death in 2006. She was also preceded in death by her father, John E. Groneck; her mother Alma Frey Groneck; her sister Barbara Groneck; her step-mother Doris Groneck and her nephew Jeff Pilger. She is survived by her 2 brothers, John "Jack" (Carol) Groneck, Richard (Beverly) Groneck, and her sister, Sue Groneck Pilger (Hal) and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Liz loved life, her family, friends and the many dogs she had along the way. She lived life to its fullest and made so many smile when they were blessed to be with her.

Liz pledged her remains to St. Louis University School of Medicine.

A Mass will be celebrated in her honor on Saturday, July 23, 2022, 10:00 AM at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 12934 Marine Ave. Maryland Heights, MO
