Beloved husband of Carol Hornung; dearest father of Beth (Dave) Ruckman, Jeff (Renden) Hornung, and John Hornung; dear papa of Ashley and Amanda Hornung; brother of Tom (Jane) Hornung; our dear uncle and cousin.

Elmer served in the United States Army serving in Alaska during the Korean War. After completing his service, he went on to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering at Washington University. After finishing school, Elmer started a career with ITT Blackburn and later Royal Switchgear until his retirement. Elmer then spent some time working in real estate.

Visitation Wednesday, October 26, 3:00 PM until time of funeral service 7:00 PM at Collier's Funeral Home, 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd (St. Ann). Interment Thursday, October 27, 11:00 AM at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery (St. Ann).
