Fatama Lucille (White) Yamnitz of Normandy, MO passed away on April 8, 2020. She was born in Fredericktown, MO on September 19, 1935, to Richard and Gladys "Dolly" (Branum) White. She married the love of her life, Alva "Al" Yamnitz of Perryville, MO on March 8, 1952, and he survives at home.

Also surviving are two sons, Al (Nancy) of St. Charles, MO, and Larry (Delores) of Jefferson City, MO; Grandchildren Jason (Angela) Yamnitz of Smithfield, KY, Sarah (Ryan) Miller of Antioch, IL, Stephen (Candace) Yamnitz of Hanover Park, IL, Allison (Alan) Hughes of Richmond Heights, MO, and Sean (Jakki) Yamnitz of Crystal Lake, IL; Great Grandchildren Anna, Nick, Kaley, Lilly, Joey, Julianna, Eli, Hadassah, and Malachi; one sister, Nora Szarwinski of Florida; two brothers Byron (Rosalind) White of Marquand, MO, and Gary (Reta) White of Winterville, GA; two sisters-in-law, Betty White of Cortland, IL, and Viola Sharp of Perryville, MO. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews she loved as if they were her own children.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Albert White, Harold White, Clyde White, and Bacile White, sister Dorothy Rhea (White), Granddaughters Jennifer Lucille Yamnitz and Suzanne Rene' Yamnitz, and Grandson Robert Edwin Yamnitz.

She loved her family and they loved her. Family had always been important to her whether it was idolizing her father, who nicknamed her "Duke" as a little girl or caring for her mother and younger siblings while she still lived at home. She loved other children as well, dedicating time to be a leader in Cub Scouts with her sons and Girl Scouts, even though she had no girls of her own, with her troop member "daughters" who loved her as if she were their own mother. Her home was always open for her family, there was always an open offer of a place for them or their families to stay.

Alva and Lucille loved to travel and travelled many miles across this great country camping and visiting along the way. They spoke with great fondness of their cross-country train trip to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Probably her favorite travel memory was a Caribbean Cruise with a group of friends from their church.

Church was important to Lucille. When her sons were small, she made it a point to get them involved in Church and Sunday School. Her love for the Lord and His Church led her to become a leader in the Presbyterian Church where she served numerous times as an Elder and on numerous committees and boards.

Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a memorial service is pending. In the meantime, burial will occur at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery and will be under the direction of Collier's Funeral Home, St. Ann, MO colliers@colliersfuneralhome.com.
