Obituary

Gage Christopher Ward 09/26/2000 – 03/19/2026

With heartbreak, we share the news that Gage Christopher Ward died in a traffic accident on March 19, 2026.

Gage lived in St. Louis, MO and was a loving father to his two beautiful young sons, Elias Grey Ward and Vaughn Christopher Ward, who were the center of his hopes and plans for the future.

He was the beloved son of Kristi Michelle Dillman and John David Ward, and stepson of Heather Ward. Gage was the loving brother of the late Alyssa Hailey Ward, stepbrother to Reece and Josie Crawford, and shared a co-parenting partnership with Ariana Hageman and Cora Fowler, united in love for their children.

Gage was a cherished nephew to Karla Randall (Steve) and Andrew Ward (Brandy), and a cousin to Brian Knapp (Ali), Dan Knapp (Brett), Jamie Meinert (Brandon), Ami Francis, Grace Ward and Nick Francis, whose close relationship resembled that of a brother.

He will be remembered for the immense love of his sons, his fearless life philosophy, and his ability to adapt and reinvent himself as circumstances changed. Gage was a certified welder and currently on the dean's list and honors program in college working toward a psychology degree. The highlight of his life was playing around with Elias and Vaughn, and Gage's face just lit up whenever he was around them or spoke of them. He focused on their future and took pride in teaching them things or building things for them, like a picnic table sand box.

He loved to read, discuss, and write about history, religion, psychology and philosophy. Gage loved everything outdoors and was forever curious, eager to learn something new or master a new skill. Having not known much about motorcycles he rebuilt a Harley one summer, another year he trained to be an MMA fighter and had three fights and once backpacked through Ireland. He embraced every day and every opportunity to the fullest and was proud to witness those same traits emerging in Elias and Vaughn.

Gage was God-centered, he had such a beautiful spirit and the ability to talk about anything and connect to almost anyone. He always made time to talk to friends who were struggling, needed comfort, or help with a task. His presence, his laugh, and his stories of his adventures and hopes will be deeply and profoundly missed in the lives of his sons and all those who knew him.

Some men are worth a thousand men, in a thousand ways… that was how God made Gage Christopher Ward.

It is in tribute to Gage that a memorial trust has been created for Elias and Vaughn and will be managed by his cousin, Brian Knapp, who is a Senior Christian financial advisor. To contribute toward their future needs, birthdays, etc., please scan for a go-fund-me that links directly to the trust or checks can be made payable to Fidelity Investments. These funds will be received with the deepest gratitude and used toward the boys' future needs and education. God Bless. https://gofund.me/28d9020f2
