Thompson, George Andrew born March 14, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri, died Monday, July 3, 2023, at the age of 93. George was preceded in death by his  beloved wife of 62 years, Katherine (Nee Laufer), his parents, Andrew and Elizabeth Thompson, and his brother, Gerald "Shorty" Thompson.

George is survived by his daughters Connie Paul (Gary),  Georgia Seibel, and Kelley Rushin (Kent); his grandchildren Brooke Baker (Leslie), Alexis Melvin (Kyle), Lauren Payne (Nicholas), Sasha Walchli (Ryan), Andrew Paul (Melissa), Kyle Rushin, and Kristopher Rushin; and his great grandchildren Bailey Baker, Logan Baker, Remi Walchli, Cooper Walchli, Macie Payne, Vincent Melvin, Lincoln Payne, and Ellie George Paul. George was a beloved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend.

A carpenter, construction worker, cement finisher, truck driver, and salesman, George Thompson could build or fix anything and made lifelong friendships through every job he had. George was an almost lifelong resident of St. Ann, where his family moved when he was six, and where he built his own house on his family's land next to his parents. In recent years, he could often be spotted riding his golf cart through the neighborhood and at the park.

George loved his place at the river, where his construction skills came in handy, and where he could fish, drive his boat, and, most importantly, spend time with his friends. He cherished his family and was always happy to spend time fixing things with them, to have family meals, and to go on outings. His girls meant everything to him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .

Visitation Saturday, July 8, 9:00 AM until time of Funeral Service 11:00 AM at Collier's Funeral Home, 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd (St. Ann).
George will be laid to rest with his wife Katherine at Valhalla Cemetery.
