Gerald (Jerry) Wayne Schultz, 74, of Bridgeton, Missouri died Sunday, December 27, 2020. He was born August 30, 1945 in New Wells, Missouri to Frederick (Fred) and Olga Maria (Hoffman) Schultz.

He devoted much of his time and energy as a caregiver to his wife. His gentle smile, laugh, and twinkle in his baby blue eyes brought so much joy to his friends and family. He was an avid baseball Cardinal fan and loved going to the games. With great enthusiasm, he would scream, "Go baby, go, yeah!" When the cardinals would make a great move in the game.

Gerald was a 1963 graduate of Horton-Watkins High School. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the US Army from November 1965 to October 1967, and remaining in the Army Reserves until October 1971. He met his wife, Mary, while pumping her gas at the Site Service Station in, Olivette, MO where he worked, and they were married July 27, 1968. Jerry worked for Volkswagen Mid-America for 20 years as a parts picker and checker and in shipping and receiving. He then worked for Dierbergs as a night stocker for 21 years, before retiring in 2017 to care for Mary. He is survived by Mary, his wife of 52 years, his two daughters, Juanita Schultz of St. Ann, Missouri and Tamra Schultz of Bridgeton, Missouri, and his sister, Juanita Hayes. He was preceded in death by his sister Edna and his brothers, Milton, Vernon and Merlin. Jerry was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. His laugh and gentle smile will be missed.

Visitation Wednesday, January 20th 9:00 AM until time of service 10:00 AM at COLLIER'S Funeral Home, 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd. (St. Ann). Interment J.B. National Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be given to the American Heart Association.
