Obituary

Patrick, Gloria C. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Sunday October 24, 2021.

Beloved wife of the late Norman E. Patrick; dearest mother of Kathleen (Stephen) Schmitt and Phillip (Janet) Patrick; dear grandmother of Eric (Jamie) Schmitt, Christine (Alan) Hillier, Stephanie (Patrick) Jacobsmeyer, Phillip (Katlin) Patrick Jr., and Thomas (Mary) Patrick; great-grandmother of Stephen, Sophia, Olivia, Charlotte, Anna, Ethan, Evelyn, Owen, Eloise, August, Grace, Madison, Callie, Arianna, and Jace; daughter of the late Salvator and Rose Vitale; sister of Suntina (Tony) Catalano, Tom Vitale, Delores (Bill) Priesmeyer; Victoria (the late Ralph) Roesler, the late Marie (survived by Sam) Machesi, the late Rose (Carl) Degrasso, and the late Sam (survived by Janet) Vitale; our dear aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend.

Gloria lived her life with a strong dedication to her faith, her family and her friends. Everything she did revolved around those three.

She had many jobs throughout her life. In her early years she helped her father and mother in their family tailor shop. She later worked at the General Electric Lamp Plant, making light bulbs.

She was very strong in her faith and going to church was very comforting for her. That led to working at the convent at St. Kevin's Church. She cooked and cleaned for the sisters. That then lead to her doing the same at the church rectory for the priests. To her neither was thought of as a Job or work. She felt God's presence in all of it. During the same period, she volunteered in the church gardens with her treasured friends, called the Gardening Angels. They also participated in many charitable deeds. The loving bonds she made with the priests and sisters and the friends comforted her all her days.

Her most precious accomplishment was being a shinning lights and example for her family who she loved dearly. From her husband to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family, you felt God's presence when you were around her. She was always generous with her time and she made time for everyone while letting them know how special they were to her.

She will be dearly missed but we are comforted knowing she is now in his divine presence.
