Obituary

Helen Marguerite Kelley (nee Koss) passed away peacefully Friday, May 8, 2026

Beloved wife of the late Wayne Kelley; dearest daughter of the late Joseph and Marguerite Koss; loving mother of Michelle (Doug) Smith; grandmother of Grant Smith; sister of the late Johnny Koss, Dorothy Burbridge, and Mary Etta Rabe; our dear aunt and friend to many.

Helen grew up in Du Quoin, IL. She later moved to Rockford, IL for work with Ozark Airlines where she met her husband, Wayne. The two moved to the St. Louis area to further their careers with Ozark eventually building their home in Bridgeton next to their friends Sam and Marge Fetter.

Helen had the heart of an adventurer. She loved to travel with friends and was always on the move. She enjoyed playing golf, softball and bowling. Helen also rarely missed an opportunity to watch the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues.

She also was a very active member of Arlington United Methodist Church where she helped with community helping ministries, bible study, and played in the church bells choir.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Arlington United Methodist Church.
