Jacqueline L.
"Jackie" Mercurio
Feb 9, 1955 — Feb 5, 2026
Jacqueline (Jackie) L. Mercurio (née Bausch), born February 9, 1955, lifelong bringer of laughter, love, and kindness, passed peacefully on February 5, 2026, after a life lived with faith, devotion, and a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like they belonged to her.
Jackie was the beloved wife of the late Tony Mercurio, with whom she shared many adventures, countless memories, and a partnership built on love and patience. She was the cherished daughter of the late Betty (Krueger) (Bausch) Strachan and Fred Bausch, and stepdaughter of the late Charles Strachan, all of whom surely welcomed her home with open arms.
She is survived by her only daughter, Allison Maxeiner, and Allison's husband, Curt Kaemmerer, who will forever carry her stories and her strength. Jackie is also survived by her brother, Fred Bausch, and was a proud aunt to Tim Bausch and Kim Castello, each of whom inherited at least one of her legendary family tales—some true, some embellished, all unforgettable.
A faithful lifelong member of Hope Lutheran Church, Jackie lived her faith through service, kindness, and the sort of quiet leadership that made people feel safe, seen, and supported. She was the family's caretaker and unofficial historian—roles she accepted with grace and humor.
Jackie loved her family fiercely, traveled with her daughter whenever she could, and collected stories the way some people collect souvenirs. Many of those stories involved mishaps and moments that became instant classics—always retold with her signature laugh.
She touched countless lives simply by showing up with love, listening without judgment, and treating every person as if they were already part of the family. To know Jackie was to feel welcomed, valued, and—more often than not—amused.
Her legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and joy. She leaves behind a family who adored her, friends who relied on her, and a lifetime of memories that will continue to bring smiles for years to come.
