Obituary

Jim was a passionate man who loved his LORD, his Family, his Friends, Baseball, and The Beatles. He cherished his wife Jane and their pup Ezekiel James; daughter Jessica, her pup Tilly and cat Dorian; brother Richard and his daughters, Shelby (Will; Cazden, Warren, Myrah), Chelsie (Steven; Charlie), Taylor (Matt); brother Michael Flanagan (Kimberly). He had a special place in his heart for his step-mom Mayme, step-sisters Kelly (Mark) and Laura (Tom), sisters-in-law Gail (Jerry) and Morgan (Mike), all his nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He held his father Ferd close to his heart, and his mother Juanita who he is now reunited with

Local # 1 Heat & Frost Insulators of St. Louis:
Jim worked for Local #1 many years as an Insulator beginning in the mid 70's. He took pride in his work and stood strong with the brotherhood of union workers.
In 2011 Jim was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer that led him to retire with a disability at the young age of 56. He continued in fellowship with his brothers in going to their annual Christmas parties, monthly retiree luncheons, and local park picnics

Greater St. Louis Association of Umpires:
Jim was part of the GSLAU since 1991. He served as President of the association in 2020 & 2021. Over the years he officiated High School Baseball, College Baseball, Men's Baseball Leagues, Girls High School Softball, and felt privileged to work 'Cardinal Fantasy League' games at Busch Stadium. He worked his last highschool ballgame on March 20th 2025. In the Spirit of the Game, he gave it his ALL

The St. Louis Browns:
A baseball buff to the core, Jim was more recently involved with 'The Historical St. Louis Browns Society' as a member and their 'Brownie Mascot'. When not in full Brownie attire he enjoyed comradity with fellow Brown's lovers over a hot dog and a beer or other social gatherings

Most importantly, Jim loved his 'Golden Ticket'  that states "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
