Jean Marie Bland (Janis), 80, of Bridgeton, MO went with the angels on June 10, 2023 to begin her eternal life after battling breast cancer.

Jean devoted her life to family, church and friends. She taught for 25 years in Catholic schools including St. Gregory's and St. Richard's. When she retired, she worked as an aide for 5 years at Visitation Academy. She has many life-long friends, attesting to what a truly genuine person she was. Jean was the center of the family and influenced the lives of everyone she's met. She was an avid reader, a passionate gardener, a constant walker, and an energetic pickleball player.

Jean will be remembered for her kind heart, her generous soul and her sense of humor. She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Joseph and Louise Janis, her parents-in-law, Bill and Jane Bland and her beloved husband, Bill Bland.

She is survived by her siblings – Joe (Judy) Janis, Judy (Dale) Johnson and Kathy (Michael) Windler; her siblings-in-law – Bob Bland, Carol (Mike) Renner and Tom (Tara) Bland; her children – Cindy (Scott) May, Tim (Beth) Bland, Julie (Russ) Leinberger and Karen (Ryan) Kirchner; her cherished grandchildren – Amanda, Heather, Kayla, Matt, Danielle, Emily, Ryan, Abigail, Madison, Casey and Henry; her great-grandchildren – Luke and Jackson.

The services will be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Thursday, June 15th, 2023 beginning with a visitation at 9:15 am, followed by mass at 10:00 am and a short graveside service at St. Mary's Cemetery, concluding with lunch beginning at 12:15pm at Syberg's on Dorsett.
