Obituary

Joan Ellen (Williams) Mason of Bridgeton, Missouri was an extraordinary daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, godmother, and friend. She left this world after a courageous fight with a rare autoimmune disease on October 4, 2021, at the age of 65.

She was born to the late John and Ellen "Jane" Williams on January 14,1956 in Belleville, Illinois. She graduated from University City High School, in University City, Missouri. She had a phenomenally successful career in financial services by starting at First National Bank, before moving to Southwest Bank and ending at Pattonville High School.

Joan was married on October 6, 1984, to Dennis L Mason; they celebrated 37 loving years of marriage.

Joan was an amazing mother to Daniel (Sabrina), Kathleen, and Kelly Mason. grandmother to Isabelle Hunter, sister to Judy and the late Bill Sr. Sansone, and Jeanne Betz, daughter-in-law to the late Wilbur and Genevieve Mason, sister-in-law to Brenda and the late Buck Shepard, aunt, and godmother to Bill Jr. Sansone, aunt to Kevin Sansone, Timmy Betz, and Shannon Bilger, and the late Tony Sansone, and godmother to Greg McDaniels. She was friends to many, who became family.

Spending time with family, and friends meant everything to her, she loved being the host with the mostess. Joan loved to travel with friends and family, her goal once she retired was to travel. Her energy lit up a room, her laughter and smile were contagious. Joan touched so many people's lives through her compassion, and love for life. She lived everyday like it was her last.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 3130 Parkwood Lane Maryland Heights, Missouri 63044 on October 9th, 2021, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. A memorial mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, or the ALS Association in her honor.
