John "Jack" R. Roberson Sr. fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 at the age of 95.
Beloved husband of LaVerne Roberson (Nee Adrian) married 72 years; loving father of the late John Jr. (Survived by Rita) Roberson, the late Diane (late Rich) Noles, Denise (Mark) McManus, Nancy (Mike) Prost and Richard (Jean) Roberson. Grandfather of 9, great grandfather of 11+ dearest uncle, coach, and friend to many. Jack was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, Lorraine (Gus) Beine, Jim (Jackie) Roberson and Bob Roberson.
Services: Visitation Sunday, March 13, 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Collier's Funeral Home, 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd, St. Ann, MO. Funeral Mass Monday, March 14, 10:00 AM at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2218 N. Warson Rd, Overland, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The Society of St. Vincent DePaul of St. Louis.
Jack was a veteran of WWII and a 70-year member of IBEW Local 1.
Jack was an all-conference basketball athlete in high school. High school was cut short for Jack when he joined the Merchant Marines. After serving in WWII Jack finished high school, met his wife LaVerne on the dance floor and together they danced their way through 72 years of marriage. They won dance competitions and made many friends along the way.
Jack was an active member of St. Kevin's Catholic Church. He spent countless hours at St. Kevin's volunteering and coaching his children's sports teams. He used his basketball talents to win the County Basketball Championship with his oldest son John.
Jack loved his family better than life itself and allowed his family to say their farewells before leaving them. His hard work and love of family is bestowed upon his children and grandchildren for many years to come.
Enjoy the welcome party Dad with John, Diane and the rest of the family. Give them all a big kiss and a hug from us. We will miss you down here. Love you!
