In Loving Memory of Kathryn Kennelly

July 30, 1944 – July 22, 2026

With profound sadness, but grateful hearts for the beautiful life she lived, we announce the passing of Kathryn Kennelly on July 22, 2026, at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marty and her beloved son, Lawrence Schaeffer.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Father Eugene W. Schaeffer III; Christopher Schaeffer and his wife, Colleen; and Stephanie Couturier and her husband, Spencer. She is also lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Mary Schaeffer, wife of her late son, Lawrence. She leaves behind a family that was the greatest blessing of her life: grandchildren Amanda Schaeffer, Brittany Hansen (Brandon), Lawrence Schaeffer Jr., Nicholas Schaeffer, Olivia Schaeffer, C.J. Schaeffer (Maddie), Carrie Schaeffer, and Nathan Couturier (Heather), along with her cherished great-grandchildren, Trista, Kynareth, Dexter, and CJ, III.

Her family was the center of her world. She found joy in the everyday moments, simply spending time with the people she loved. She taught her family that love wasn't measured by grand gestures, but by kindness, faith, laughter, and always being there for the people you love.

Later in life, she enjoyed working as a Sales Representative with Mom365, where she loved connecting with her coworkers and new parents.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. As a devoted member of All Saints Catholic Church, she faithfully served for many years as a PSR teacher, sharing her love of Christ with generations of children.

She leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured by accomplishments or possessions, but by the countless lives she touched with her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and unconditional love. Her family will forever carry with them the lessons she taught—not only through her words, but through the beautiful example she lived every day.

Though we will miss her more than words can express, we are forever grateful for the years we were blessed to call her our mom, our grandma, our great-grandma, and our friend.

Funeral Services

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 30, 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at the church beginning one hour prior to the Mass. Family and friends are

invited to join the family for lunch immediately following the service at the Parish Center.

To honor Kathryn's memory, the family kindly invites everyone attending her services to wear something blue. It was her favorite color and also the color she loved because of its association with the Blessed Virgin Mary, reflecting the deep faith that guided her life.

Memorial Contributions

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Kathryn, a proud lung cancer survivor.
