Jun 24, 1936 — Jun 20, 2022
Kathyrn (Kay) Elizabeth Mills (nee Busch) passed away on Monday, June 20th, 2022 in Hazelwood, MO at the age of 85. Kay was born in St. Ann, MO on June 24th, 1936 to Francis W. and Ruth Busch (nee Berry). Kay was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Mills for over 60 years.
Loving mother of Mary (Mark) Kienzle, Robert (Kim) Mills, Stephen (Sherry) Mills and John (David Foster) Mills; grandchildren, Casey (Katy) Mills, Patrick (Morgan) Mills, Joshalyn (Kuron) Bolden, Stephanie (David) Brittingham, David Mills, Carolyn Kienzle and Bobby (Dina King) Kienzle. Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, brother's-in-law David Mills, Larry Ortballs. Son-in-law Mark Kienzle, Daughter-in-law Kim Mills and sisters Mary Loretta Busch and Nona Morgan.
Kay was one of the most generous individuals you will ever meet. She had a heart of gold and cared deeply for everyone in her life. She would do without and often made sacrifices in her life to make sure that others did not have to. As the oldest of 10 children, Kay helped raise some of her younger siblings.
Kay was an elementary school teacher for most of her professional career and later worked in a youth home for children. She also worked part time at Burlington Coat factory where she always came home with a fun story to tell. When not raising her own children, Kay and Robert were also foster parents where they opened their home to over 25 children throughout the years.
Kay was a devout Christian who loved Jesus. She truly lived and loved her faith. For fun, Kay loved watching Cardinals baseball while playing games on her IPAD or knitting a garment. If she had a vice in her life, it would have to be her love for Bingo.
