Kathy Thompson

Kathy (Kathleen) Thompson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29th with her family by her side at the age of 77. She was deeply loved by her late husband, Jim, their children Scott Thompson, John Thompson, and Laura (Luke) Brennan, and their three grandchildren- Torben, Katie and Kira. Kathy grew up in a loving and faith filled home with her dear (late) parents, Larry and Julie Clements, and siblings Mary Ann (Don) Brann, Judy (George, late) Jaegers, Larry (Mary) Clements and Jim (Karen) Clements, and extended family down the block. She was a dedicated employee at Washington University and the University of Missouri St. Louis, where she made many cherished friendships. As with all things in her life, her motivation was to provide a better future for her kids who are eternally grateful.

She truly appreciated the simple things in life- a gentle breeze, sitting on the back deck with a cup of coffee & Baileys and listening to the birds, sleeping under the stars, but most of all being with family. She was a devoted mom and grandma who always made us feel special, making it to every ballgame, performance, birthday party and baptism. She was the ultimate grandma who took her grandkids' tent camping, fishing, caving, and was always up for a good-old sit-up challenge (which always ended in giggles for everyone).

As a humble and devout Catholic, she gently demonstrated kindness and generosity to everyone she met. Without hesitation, she and Jim opened their home to friends and family, treating others with genuine respect and warmth. Always putting others before herself, she would give you the shoes off of her feet, and the food off of her plate. Kathy naturally saw the best in everyone and everything, always had a positive perspective and the sweetest smile to share. She was simply a beautiful, wonderful human who will be deeply missed, and forever cherished.

Visitation Thursday, August 6th, 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Collier's Funeral Home, 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd (St. Ann). Funeral Mass Friday, August 7th, 9:30 AM at Holy Spirit Church, 3130 Parkwood Ln (Maryland Heights). Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
