LaMyra Kern passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025. She fought a long hard battle with diabetes and Conn's syndrome. Born on February 8, 1942 to Harry Gurley and Bessie (Klemens) Gurley, LaMyra grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, attending Ritenour High School. She was very involved in school playing field hockey, serving on Honor Society and participating in many clubs and activities. In her later days, LaMyra worked as a secretary for Kuenz Heating as well as a real estate agent for Gundaker Real Estate Company. She enjoyed helping people find their homes.

LaMyra was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. LaMyra adored her grandchildren and valued time spent with family. She loved celebrating all holidays with a lot of decorations and food. She also enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with family and friends. She was a loving mother to LeAnn (Kern) Hefner and Jill (Kern) Oetting (husband Terry). She was also a proud grandmother of Blake Hefner, Greer Hefner, Emma Oetting and Lorelei Oetting. A loving sister to Harry Gurley, Mary (Gurley) Probst (Husband Tom Probst), Jim Gurley and the late John Gurley.

LaMyra's presence will deeply be missed by family, friends and anyone who knew her. She was always willing to help her friends and family. She also loved to talk and share stories. Her memory will forever be a constant source of love, laughter, and comfort.

A celebration of life will be held on April 5 at Immanuel Lutheran Church St. Charles, MO from 12-3 p.m
