Lavern Edward Boxx

March 14, 1940 – September 2, 2026

Lavern is the beloved husband of Alice Boxx (nee Dobnikar); dearest father of Michael (Jo) Boxx and the late Clark Boxx; loving grandfather of Jessica Boxx, Justin Randazzo, Corey Boxx, and Chelsey Boxx; great grandfather of Maddox, Lyle, Ethan, Clark, Ivy, Everett, Isla, and Oliver; brother of Melvin Boxx “Cotton”, Mary Candice Moss “Candy”, the late Vergie, the late Janell, the late Doug, the late Lanny, and the late Judy; our dear uncle, cousin, and friend.

Lavern was a member of Teamsters 414 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was known for his love of the outdoors. Always an avid hunter, fisherman with a green thumb, and a garden overflowing with tomatoes and zucchinis. Usually, so many vegetables he and his wife, Alice, would share with neighbors and family. When he wasn’t outdoors, he could be found enjoying a western or two. He would often say, “If it’s not John Wayne or Clint Eastwood, it’s not a good movie.”
