Obituary

Lawrence N Wetzel, age 82, second son of Andrew Wetzel and Rose Rogowski, passed away on May 5th, 2021 in St. Louis County. Larry was a resident of St. Louis Mo. and was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronald Joseph Wetzel of Washington Mich.

Larry was born on December 6th, 1938 in Mckees Rocks, PA. He graduated from Mckees Rocks High School in 1957. Larry had a 45 year career in the plastics industry, with his last 20 years as a production manager for Contico International in St. Louis, Mo. After retirement, he worked part-time with Image Solutions in Bridgeton, MO.
Larry had a strong devotion to family. He was an unbelievable father, grandfather and loving husband. He was always ready to help family and friends whenever needed. He loved being outdoors especially working in the yard and other home improvements. During his younger years he enjoyed coaching youth league football and bowling.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jeannette(Porter)Wetzel of Braddock Pa., one brother, Robert A Wetzel(Ila Mae) of Lodi Calif., five children, Tom Wetzel(Dawn), Lynn Anna(Dean), Gary Wetzel,  Dan Wetzel(Brenda), Chris Wetzel(Cari), ten grandchildren,  Dean, Rachael, Nick, Melody, Kayla, Abigale, Audra, Jake, Shannon, Meaghan,  and eleven grandchildren, sister-in-laws, Joann Wetzel of Washington Mich., Edith Oros of Mokena IL., brother-in-law Jim Oros of Pittsburgh Pa., and many nieces, nephews,  and cousins.
Larry was very young at heart and had this excellent dry sense of humor. He always kept everyone laughing. Larry will be extremely missed by family and friends. Finally, and we can never forget, he was the number one fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team.
Visitation Saturday, May 8, 2021 12:00 PM until time of service 2:00 PM at COLLIER'S Funeral Home, 3400 North Lindbergh Blvd. (St. Ann).
