Linda M.
Wichlan
Mar 15, 1949 — Dec 24, 2024
Linda Wichlan, 75 years, of Bridgeton, Missouri passed away Tuesday December 24, 2024. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she peacefully passed. She and Stephen Wichlan were married for 51 years.
Linda was a devoted mom to Anthony Scott, Andrea Day (Adam), and Michael Scott (Ellie). She was a proud grandmother to Lane, Mike, Austen, and Alyssa. Linda was #3 of eight siblings and survived by her sisters Mary Ann Keller (Wilburn), Helen Schimweg (Terry) and brothers Thomas Breeher (Diana), and William Breeher. She is also survived by her dear sister-in-law Barbara Gadalla. Other survivors include a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her parents, Wilbert and Louise preceded her in death as well by her son Stephen Jr., her sisters Leona Pesek, Nancy Wichlan, and brother John Breeher, brothers-in-law Robert Pesek, Anthony Wichlan Jr., and Saad Gadalla, sisters-in-law Jan Breeher and Penny Breeher.
Linda grew up in Brentwood and graduated from Mercy High School in 1967. She then started her career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a secretary one week after her high school graduation. Linda worked many different jobs during her 38 years of service, retiring in 2005 as a Program Analyst. She took great pride in the work of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was honored to be a part of the organization.
Linda enjoyed hobbies such as shopping, scrapbooking, hunting and fishing. She cherished her family and friends, and found immense joy in sharing her love with them. Linda had a huge collection of elephants, and thought they were the most amazing animals. Because of her passion for family and caring, knowing the traits of the Elephants it shaped her great love for them. She even donated to the St. Louis Zoo when Raja was born.
Linda was beautiful inside and out and she never met a stranger. In fact, while she was visiting another friend in the hospital she talked with random strangers in the waiting room. Linda met a young couple that were having a baby. She was so excited for them, she got their address and started sending gifts each year. That was only one example of her generosity.
Throughout her life she held tightly to her faith in Jesus, we take comfort that Linda is now an angel flying free in God's heavenly kingdom and dancing with her sisters. Linda battled Rheumatoid Arthritis for 45 years, but it never changed her passion for life. Please make donations to the American Arthritis Foundation in memory of Linda. www.arthritisfoundation.org
