Obituary

Lorraine Sue Crow, 67, of Maryland Heights, Missouri, passed away at 4:32 a.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2022, in her home with her family. She was born on August 6, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Harold and Doris (Hurdler) Kaatman. She graduated from Pattonville High School in 1974, breaking records in softball for throwing the furthest distance. After high school, Lorraine attended Florissant Valley Community College, receiving her Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene.

Lorraine was strong in her faith and fearless in telling others about Jesus. Growing up, she attended Gateway Nazarene Church. As a young adult, Lorraine was very much involved at Grace Church in St. Louis, Missouri. There, she met her future husband, Donald Crow, and they married on June 18, 1988.

Lorraine dedicated her life to serving others as a homemaker and mother to her daughters. She was always there for her family and her friends. She would never miss a chance to chaperone a field trip for either of her daughters, care for her family when they were sick, and always ensured that everyone was fed. No one went hungry at the Crow household.

On holidays, she would cook up feasts with leftovers for days. She made every holiday and birthday special, giving gift after gift. In fact, Lorraine loved to give gifts all the time and loved to treat her family. Often, she would take her daughters and their friends on exciting adventures, piling everyone in the van to get an ice cream cone and a ride around the block to look at houses.

The most important thing to Lorraine was being a Christian and raising her family to love the Lord. Each morning, she would pray with her daughters before sending them off to school, asking for wisdom and knowledge for each of them. She kept her life pure and was careful what she listened to and watched. Lorraine sang countless hymns and songs of worship. Many times, she would witness to anyone and everyone she could about the love of God - grocery store workers, restaurant employees, and even people walking along the road who needed a ride. Everything she did, she did for the Lord. Her life was an example of her faith and love for Jesus.

She is preceded in death by her parents. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Donald Crow of Maryland Heights, Missouri; her daughter, Sarah Henderson, and husband Jeremy of Flora, Illinois; her granddaughter Hannah Lorraine Henderson of Flora, Illinois; her daughter, Rachel Broadway, and husband, John Phillip of Maryland Heights, her brother, Harold Kaatman Jr. and wife Brenda of St. Charles, Missouri, and her sister, Lois Kessler, of Overland, Missouri.
