Obituary

Mae Frances "Frances" Allen was born on July 30, 1929, in Marianna, Arkansas.  She was the oldest child of Frank and Carrie Allen, both preceded her in death.  She moved to St. Louis, Missouri as a young child and began her education in the St. Louis Public education system.

Frances accepted Christ at a young age and was passionate about her faith. She was baptized in St. Louis on January 6th, 1952 at West Side Baptist Church. Frances could be found speaking words of encouragement and affirmations everywhere she went.  She loved praising God and encouraging his people.
On January 13, 1953 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Louis T. Laney, Sr., who preceded her in death. She was the mother of five children.  Frances was a 'Mother Like No Other'.  She would give you the shirt off her back.  She had unconditional love and would go without to ensure her family had what they needed.
Frances worked with the Head Start program and shared her time and expertise in an endeavor to build families. She loved taking care of each child and treated them as if they were part of her family.  Frances received several awards for her faithful service from Head Start.
Frances was known for many things.  She was a great cook and loved to feed people.  From a young child she loved music and enjoyed dancing.  Her passion for music and dance continued until her last days.  She enjoyed fashion and pretty clothes and her wardrobe reflected it.
Frances was preceded in death by her siblings, Willa Mae Wright, Doris Jackson and Frank Allen. She leaves to cherish her memory, her five children, Cassandra (Levi) Eddins, Marco (Michelle) Laney, Keith Laney, Rochella (Gregory) Brown and Jeannine Laney; Sister, Shirley Harris; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
