Margaret Helen Dobbs - Bridgeton, MO January 18, 1931- July 30, 2026.

Margaret Helen (Gue) Dobbs of Bridgeton, Missouri passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026 at Garden View Care Center in Chesterfield, Missouri surrounded by her family. She was 95. Margaret was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 19, 1931. She lived in a catholic home for children until she was 5 years of age. At that time, she was adopted by Otis M. Gue and Millie R. (Schmaltz) Gue from Marion County, Indiana, where she grew up. She graduated from Southport High School.

In 1952, Margaret married Harold L. Dobbs. Together, they had 6 children. To the world, she may have simply been a homemaker, but to us, she was everything. She was Mom-the person who loved us, cared for us, worried about us, celebrated with us, and made our house a home. Her greatest legacy isn't a job title or a career; "it was the family she loved and the lives she touched."

Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness touched everyone she met. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a home filled with love, warmth, and laughter. She will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering support, and the countless memories she created with those with whom she interacted. Her legacy of compassion and kindness will continue through her family and all who knew her.

She enjoyed hosting family and social gatherings and playing games of all types, especially cards. She also greatly enjoyed music. Her and Harold were active in the Hammond Tones Organ Club. She had many other interests, but her primary focus was her children and family.

At 94, she was introduced to her 3 remaining siblings, through their shared Birth Mother, Frances (Riehle) Retzner, deceased. This relationship was confirmed by DNA testing through ancestry.com. What a beautiful gift that has been!

She is preceded in death by her Husband, Harold L. Dobbs, her Adoptive Parents, Otis and Millie Gue, Florence "Aunt Sissy" (Schmaltz) Klein, Birth mother, Frances (Riehle) Retzner, 2 of her children, Cindy S. Dobbs and Lonnie R. Dobbs, sibling, Penny Bodkin, and 3 of her newly found siblings, Sister Alice Retzner, Mary Lunsford, and Marlene Schoettlekotte.

She is survived in death by her children, Mat S. (Dori) Dobbs, Michael C. (Julie) Dobbs, Theresa D. (Greg) Lee, John D. (Diane) Dobbs; 2 grandchildren, Ethan W. Dobbs (Krystina Mueller, fiancée,) and Johnna M. Dobbs. Also surviving, 3 of her newly found family members: brothers Louis Retzner, John (Wanda) Retzner, and sister Jo Ann Amberger. Plus, many nieces and nephews and extended family.
