Margaret Fern Raftery (Stadler), 95, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022 at Missouri Baptist Hospital.

Fern was born on October 11, 1927 to Robert J. and Goldie Marie Colvis Stadler, in Overland, Missouri.  After graduating from Ritenour High School, she worked for McDonnell Douglas where she met and later married Rowan C. Raftery at All Souls Catholic Church in May 1958.  Together they raised their 3 children: Jeanne (Steve), David (Kim) and Steve.  Margaret and Rowan were married for 62 years until his death in 2020.

In addition to Rowan, Fern was predeceased by her parents Robert and Goldie Stadler, her loving sisters Doris Patton, Marian Thoman and Elsie Skrivan and her granddaughter Nicole Danielle Long. She is survived by her loving brother Robert Stadler.  She is fondly remembered by her children, her grandson Sean Reilly (Kelly) and her great-grandchildren Aubrey and Jude, her nieces, nephews and friends.

Fern lived a selfless life, giving love and kindness to her Family and the Catholic Church.  She loved gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, puzzles, making Christmas ornaments and crossword puzzles.

Funeral Mass Friday, January 6, 2023 10:30 AM at Holy Spirit Church 3130 Parkwood Ln. Maryland Heights, Mo. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
