Marie E. Wiese (nee Sauer) Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Sunday, March 12, 2023.

Beloved wife of 42 years to the love of her life, Michael Wiese; dearest mother of Julie Marco (Robert) and Lisa Wiese (Ryan Walters); and loving grandmother of Ava Marco.

Her sharp wit, unbelievable strength, and compassion were with her to the end. When she heard the news of her third and final bout of cancer flaring up, she jokingly asked if we would like to be haunted and was more concerned about helping the rest of us grieve and live our best lives after her peaceful passing.

Marie was a straight-A student and lifelong learner who could not wait to graduate from high school. She spent 20 years doing clerical and proofreading work for a printing company, and she taught her daughters to spot grammar and spelling mistakes on menus and signs for the rest of eternity. She was a reliable and dedicated volunteer at practically every major school function and tutored children in language arts after retirement.

She had an understated but powerful urge to show others that she cared, and she thought of her 23-year career as a grocery store checker as a social service, even taking Spanish classes to better relate to some of her customers.

Marie only wanted practical gifts like scissors or "nothing" on major holidays, and yet she had a bag of things like favorite treats, thoughtful knick-knacks, and curated newspaper articles for her children and grandchild at every visit. We could also count on her to "surprise" us with birthday lawn decorations and "Welcome Home" signs after we returned from vacations.

Her favorite hobbies were traveling, spending time with family, and watching Hallmark movies. We always knew she was nearby because of her frequent singing and humming. She will be profoundly missed.

Marie is also the sister of Margie Hood (the late Ron), Marty Sauer (Sharon), Marilyn Flatley (the late Pat), and Mark Sauer (Janie); sister in law of Pat Pace (the late Gary), MaryAnn Bashwiner, Barb Gaston (Steve), Cathy Everhart (Fred), and the late Robert Wiese; our dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Services: Visitation Sunday, March 19, 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Collier's Funeral Home, 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd (St. Ann). Funeral Mass Monday, March 20, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Presentation, 8860 Tudor Ave (Overland). Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Fr. Bob's Outreach .
