Mary Matthews, or "Marlen" as she was known to friends, passed away peacefully the evening of Monday, March 14th, 2022, at the age of 87.

Mary was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on October 5, 1934, to the late Alex and Mary Potrzeboski.

She was the beloved wife of Robert A. Matthews before his passing in 2000.

Mary is survived by her children Michael M., Daniel M.(husband to Susan M.), and Betty L.; grandchildren Jennifer T. (wife to Mitchell T.), Danielle M., Blake L., and Clark L.; and great-grandchildren Holland C. and Emmett T.

Mary was a friend to everyone and known for being helpful to the best of her ability. Mary served as a friend, wife, mother, housemother, and worked throughout the years in supportive employment to help the work and lives of others. In her later years Mary was a fan of game shows and wouldoften compete with the contestants on TV, and was active with her TOPS (Taking Pounds Off Sensibly) charter. Mary enjoyed good food and enjoyed trying things that were 'different.'

Visitation Monday, March 21, 2022 3:00-7:00 PM, at Collier's Funeral Home 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd. St. Ann, Mo. 63074. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Florissant, MO, joining her departed husband. In lieu of flowers, please send any memorial contributions to National Kidney Foundation

While Mary may have passed, she still lives on in our lives though our memories and through her influence on us over the years.
