She was an active member in the trade group - International Association of Personnel in Employment Systems.
When she was widowed at 54, she joined a square dance club where she made many lifelong friends. She continued to belong to the square dance club up until her death. Even when she could no longer dance, she would attend the dances and assist at the front door and visit with her dear friends. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and Hazelnuts Senior Club.
Maxine was a devote Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Mercy and St. Martin de Porres parish where she participated in many activities including singing in the choir and participating it the ACTs retreat.
She enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Texas with several other St. Louis snowbirds. She loved traveling with her family and took many vacations with her children and grandchildren. Her 90th birthday was celebrated with a trip to the Vatican and a tour of Italy.
