Obituary

Michael E. "Mike" Lemp, 77, passed away at home on February 15, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Beloved husband of 54 years to Mary E. (nee Kaliszewski), dear father of Ellen M., Edward M. "Ed" (Jennifer "Jen" Debold), Thomas J., and Mariana "Ana" (Ken) Politte, grandfather to Zachary C., Nicholas P., and Alexander E. Lemp, dear brother of Donald J. (Janet), Mary C. Sumner, Alice T., and Lawrence J. (Marianne) Lemp, dear brother-in-law of Michael (Kathy), Joseph, and Stephan (Mary) Kaliszewski, and favorite uncle to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence J. and Catherine A. Lemp, father-in-law Stanley P. and mother-in-law Dorothy M. Kaliszewski, siblings Margaret A. "Dee Dee" Raaf, Robert E., and Gerard M. Lemp, sister-in-law Carol A. "Connie" and brother-in-law Robert S. Kaliszewski.

Mike graduated from Mercy High School in St. Louis, MO. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Sonar Technician Petty Officer 2nd Class in locations such as the Mediterranean, Suez Canal, and Vietnam to name a few. Mike earned an Associate in Arts degree from Florissant Valley Community College in 1981. He was a service technician at Xerox for 37 years and could be found many mornings sipping coffee at White Castle. Perhaps known best for his sense of humor, Mike never met a stranger and had a repertoire of sayings and one-liners that he regularly quoted.

Visitation Tuesday, February 20th 4-7 pm Collier's Funeral Home, 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd, St. Ann, MO 63074. Funeral Wednesday, February 21st 10:30 am Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3130 Parkwood Lane, Maryland Heights, MO 63043. Burial to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Donations to American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
