Obituary

Paddy Kasprzyk was born Patricia Helen Counihan to Dr. Richard and Enid Counihan on November 14th, 1931 in Kilrush, County Clare, Ireland.
She arrived in the United States to have her Nurse training "Americanized" with the intention of returning home.

One enchanted evening, she met Andrew "Andy" Kasprzyk and soon they were a pair.
Much of their early courtship included dancing at the International Club, picnics at Forest Park, and Mass at the New Cathedral, making friends everywhere they went.
They were Married in December 1958, they soon established residence in Bridgeton Missouri .

Paddy, a Registered Nurse, worked at St. John's Mercy Hospital in the newborn nursery. She enjoyed caring for our most vulnerable, making friends and loving her work. Paddy retired from St. John's Mercy in 1993 after 30 years of service to her calling.

Most of Paddy's life was spent living on Majella Drive in Bridgeton. Together Andy and Paddy raised 5 children. Jenny, Betsy, Annie, David and Richard (Freckles,Casey and Bobby Socks, Etc. Etc).
They raised their family with and for the Lord and established deep and lifelong friendships through St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bridgeton.
Holy Spirit Catholic Church quickly became home for Paddy after St. Mary's closed and her later years were blessed with many kind and caring friendships.

The Kasprzyks were involved in the political and social "goings on" in Bridgeton. Andy's work with the council and Paddy's work with and in the community helped to make Bridgeton the great place that it is today.

Paddy loved her friends from Bridgeton and looked forward to all things "Community Center ". The Senior Center became her lifeline and social circle.
We are eternally grateful to the Bridgeton Senior Center for giving our mother a place to rely on for friendship, respect and community. She missed her friends every day that she couldn't be with them. She loved everyone there, especially Mary Lane and Mike "The Dog" Murphy.
She also cherished the friendship of her "Bread Company" friends and her many Bridge Group Friends. You kept her young and lively!

We sure will miss her. Paddy is survived by
Jenny and John Crawford, Betsy and Rich VanScoyk, Annie and Chris Adams, David and Chrissy Kasprzyk, and Richard and Christy Kasprzyk.
