Richard
Salisbury
Sep 6, 1950 — Jan 30, 2025
Richard "Rick" B. Salisbury, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and cherished friend passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Born on September 6, 1950, in New York to Francis and Ruth Salisbury, Rick lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
Rick proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before settling in Missouri, where he built a fulfilling career as a purchaser with Steris, dedicating over 30 years of service. His impact reached far beyond the workplace…he was a man who stepped up in ways that words could never fully capture.
Rick was the beloved husband of Linda Salisbury and the loving father to Stacy (Rikk) Brummet, Carrie (Nathan) Bretz, and Stefanie Buesking. He was a proud Grand Pops to Michael (Jordan) Bretz and an adoring Great Pops to his precious great-grandson, Bexley Bretz. His eyes would light up with pure joy every time he heard Bexley say, "Hi Pops," a sound that filled his heart like nothing else.
He also leaves behind his brother Jerry (Sherry) Salisbury, nephew Scott (Sue) Salisbury, and great-nephew Sean.
Rick was more than just family…he was a friend, a mentor, and a selfless contributor to his community. His dedication to fundraising for Basket of Hope was just one of the many ways he gave back. He had a passion for golf, spending hours playing, watching, and talking about the game he loved. And if there was one thing he cherished just as much, it was everything New York…his beloved Yankees and the city that shaped him.
He was also the proud owner of some honorary stubbornness…whether debating a point or standing firm in his beliefs, he did it with conviction and heart. But above all, Rick loved deeply and was loved beyond measure.
While our hearts ache, we find comfort in knowing his kindness, humor, and unwavering spirit will live on in all of us.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Collier's Funeral Home (3400 N. Lindbergh, St. Louis, MO 63074) from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, with a Prayer Service beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the service, we will gather at Fallon's Irish Bar and Grill (9200 Olive Blvd #116, Olivette, MO 63132) to raise a glass in his honor and share stories, just as he would have wanted.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Basket of Hope in Rick's memory. https://www.basketofhope.org
Rick's love, strength, and laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
