Richard (Rick) David Wohlschlaeger, 71, of St. Louis, MO, passed away on November 16, 2024. He is survived by his two sons, Ben (Emily) and Michael (Megan), three grandchildren - Ellie, Sophie, and Emma Grace - and siblings, Michael Wohlschlaeger, Barb Hutchins, and Nancy Means. Richard was preceded in death by Robert (Betty June) Wohlschlaeger.

Rick pursued his passion for ornithology at the University of Missouri, which later led to a successful career in sales and marketing within the pet food industry. Known for his charisma and captivating storytelling, Rick had a unique ability to engage those around him. His deep love for nature was evident in his photography, where he skillfully captured animals in their natural habitats. Birdwatching and photography in Costa Rica were among his favorite pastimes. Above all, Rick cherished his family and friends, and he found immense joy in sharing his love of nature with them.

A memorial service to honor Rick's life will be held at Collier's Funeral Home on Monday, November 25th. Visitation will be from 5pm until 7pm, followed by the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the World Bird Sanctuary .
