Rita M. Cortopassi (nee Sondhaus)

Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother the Church and surrounded by family, Rita passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on Friday, June 21, 2024 after a long illness.

She was preceded in death by son Gregory aged 62, her parents Harold and Anastasia (Ryan) Sondhaus and her sisters, Ellen Elizabeth (Eugene) Callahan and Loretta Ann Sondhaus. Survived by Alfred, her husband of 72 years, and her sons Thomas (Deborah) and Joseph (Sharon) Cortopassi, her grandchildren Marie (Angelo) Pata of Chicago, IL, Joseph (Elizabeth) of Charleston, SC, and Andrew (Jennifer) of St. Louis, great grandchildren, nephews, and cousins.

Private Internment at Calvary Cemetery, July 5th 2024. A Memorial Mass and celebration of Rita's life will be held at Christ Prince of Peace Church, 415 Weidman Road on Saturday July 13 with 10:00 a.m. Visitation until time of 11:00 a.m. Mass. A reception at the church will immediately follow.
