Robert Mareschal
November 23, 1929 ~ November 16, 2024
Robert (Bob) Mareschal of Bridgeton, MO passed away on November 16, 2024 at the age of 94. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn Mareschal (nee: Aubuchon). He was the cherished father of his 3 surviving children: Gary (Theresa) Mareschal of St. Peters, MO; Karen (Don) Schleeper of St. Charles, MO; Linda (Mark) Bailey of St. Charles, MO; and the treasured grandfather of eight: Joshua (Brea) Mareschal; Lauren (Brian) Odum; Daniel (Erin) Mareschal; Michael (Victoria) Schleeper; Angela (Ben) Skoch; Elizabeth Karacek; Jack Bailey; and Katie (David) Fitzpatrick; and the loving great grandfather of 13: Jaxson and Mya Marte; Anna, Margaret, and Kate Odum; Cecelia, Francesca, and Theo Mareschal; Eli, Josie, Edee, and Francis Skoch; and Maeve Fitzpatrick.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Leo and Lillian Mareschal; his wife, Evelyn, and his son Ron.
Bob was born at home in unincorporated St Louis County. He was married to Evelyn May 10, 1952 and had 4 children. He built his home next to his in-laws, Manuel and Mathilda Aubuchon, and remained there until the last year of his life. Nearly his entire working career was as an airline mechanic for Delta Airlines, starting as a mechanic and retiring as a maintenance supervisor. It was a job done with great pride. In his "free" time he assisted his in-laws with gardening, operated a service station, and had several rental homes.
He had an immense love of his family, helping to care for Manuel and Mathilda, his
mother Lillian, and his sister Margaret and brother Richard, as well as his uncles Ted and George and most especially for the care of his wife Evelyn over the last several years of her life.
Dad was a guy who would never say no if asked for assistance. He was at times creative in his approach to resolving a problem, and if you bumped into him and asked a question you could almost guarantee yourself a lengthy conversation........about almost everything.
In honor of Bob, donations may be made to: Ronald McDonald House Charities St. Louis, 4321 Chouteau Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110; St. Mary's Cemetery Association, c/o Heidi Perkins, 3833 Raymond Ave, Bridgeton, Mo 63044; or the charity of your choice.
