Obituary

Ruth Ann Langley-Fields

September 14, 1946 - August 16, 2026

Ruth passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of August 16, 2026 with her daughter Tina by her side, she was 79.

In 1964 Ruth married Jimmy Langley. They shared two daughters, Lisa and Tina. Ruth was preceded in death by Jimmy (1973) and Lisa (1982).

She dedicated her life to raising her remaining daughter Tina in a loving home, creating many happy memories and cherished traditions.

After raising her daughter, Ruth began employment at The Cooperating School Districts/Education Plus where she worked for 26 years. She has been remembered fondly by former coworkers for her wonderful sense of humor.

She was an excellent cook; one of her favorite meals was the huge Christmas dinner she prepared each year. She loved to garden and spent hours tending to her beautiful flowers each spring and summer. She loved music, particularly Elvis Presley and loved to dance.

She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Evelyn Blair and siblings Eleanor, Carol, Gloria, Susan, George and Margaret. She is survived by her sister Kathy and brother-in-law Ray, and brother Paul Jr. She was a beloved aunt to more than 30 nieces and nephews.

She was an amazing mom to Tina and her husband Bob, but her greatest joy was becoming a grandma to Trevor (1998) and Abigail (2004). She loved those kids more than life itself and took every chance she could to spoil them. She also became a great-grandma to Trevor and Jocelyn’s twins Morgan and Eleanor (2025). If she had been in better health, you can bet she would have been spoiling those babies like crazy!

Ruth committed herself to Jesus on March 22, 1969 through Baptism and now resides in eternal peace at his side. She will be dearly missed and was loved beyond measure.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
