Obituary

Sally Ann Carter (nee Hooker) was called home, November 24, 2023. Sally was born to the late Billy Jo and Velma Hooker on March 13, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri. Beloved wife of the late Norman "Butch" Eugene Carter, Jr. for 28 wonderful years. Loving mother to Justin (Amber) Carter, Jerad (Ashley) Carter, Danielle (Garrett) Clark and grandmother to Cory, Camden, Ava, Collin and Rosie. Dog mom to Charlie. Cherished sister to Jane (Dave) Reissig, Robin (Tom) Jung, and Joe (Maria) Hooker.

Although cut short, Sally lived a full life with her family filled with laughter and many beautiful moments. Sally was quick-witted and sassy, frequently exchanging a bit of banter with her late husband or children, but always just as quick to offer a hug and occasionally partake in a little wine-induced dancing.

In addition to a long career in logistics management, she took her role as a mother equally as seriously. Always only a phone call away to answer a question or give advice. Sally loved cooking for her family, often trying new recipes or buying one of many random kitchen gadgets she may or may not have actually used. When she wasn't keeping busy indoors, she could usually be found relaxing on her back deck, getting some sun, tending to her many flowers or veggies in the yard, or checking for hummingbirds at her feeders. For many years Sally loved to spend the summers camping and traveling with her family.

A wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to many, Sally will be so very missed by all that knew her.

The family is incredibly grateful for the excellent care Sally received from the entire staff at Siteman Cancer Center. Thank you for your care, compassion and dedication. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
