Obituary

Samantha "Sam" "Sammy Jo" Trautmann, beloved mother, fiancée, daughter, granddaughter, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith.

Born and raised in St. Charles, Missouri, Sam graduated from St. Charles High School in 2005. She began her college journey at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) before realizing her true passion was in computers and networking. She went on to earn a Certificate in Networking Systems from Ranken Technical College before continuing her education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where she earned her bachelor's degree in information technology. Her dedication to learning never wavered, and she was actively pursuing her master's degree while working at Boeing in IT—her dream job. Sam was passionate about her career and deeply valued her colleagues, finding joy in work that aligned with her lifelong love for technology.

Samantha was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Kenzley. She dedicated her life to ensuring that Kenzley had the best childhood possible, filling her days with sleepovers, soccer games, dance recitals, and every opportunity she could find. Samantha's deep love for Kenzley was always evident in the way she nurtured, protected, and encouraged her to chase her dreams.

She was the cherished daughter of Neil Trautmann (Stephanie) and the late Lori Crisan. She was raised with love by her parents and stepfather, John Crisan, and shared a special bond with her grandparents, Bill and Marjorie Siegel, and the late Carl Trautmann and Donna Vorhies.
Sam was the heart and soul of her tight-knit family. She was exceptionally close to her sisters—Ashley (Barry), Megan, and Jordan—who, together, were known simply as "The Girls," along with their official fifth Trautmann, Katie. She adored being an aunt to Ayden, Emma, Grayson, Mack, Colton, Trey, Aurora, Hudson, Joey, Sydney, Sutton, and Sulli. She treasured every moment spent with her family and took immense pride in being a loving and involved aunt.

In the summer of 2024, on a beautiful beach, Sam got engaged to the love of her life, Oscar Martinez. With him, she found true happiness, love, and partnership, and they were joyfully building a future together. Sam's love extended beyond her own daughter—she embraced Oscar's children, Aliyah, Lucas, Diego, and Myah, as her own, building a beautiful, blended family filled with love, chaos, and excitement.
She had a deep passion for travel, from weekend road trips to international adventures—Sam was always ready for her next trip. But nothing brought her more peace than her yearly visits to Clearwater Beach—her home away from home. The memories she made there with her entire family will never be forgotten.

Sam was a lifelong music lover and an avid concertgoer, with a special love for country music and Taylor Swift—proudly calling herself a devoted Swiftie. She also had a love for true crime documentaries and doted on her beloved cats: Izzy, Mrs. Olivia Benson, and Mr. Finn Tutuola.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. From childhood, she was raised in the United Church of Christ, confirmed in her faith in eighth grade, and formally accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She found joy in serving others, teaching Sunday school, and sharing God's love through her kindness and compassion. Sam attended several churches in her adult life, finally finding a true church home at First Assembly Church in St. Peters, where she felt deeply connected.

Above all else, Samantha was a light in this world. She was kind, selfless, and fiercely loyal. She formed lifelong friendships and welcomed new friends with open arms, turning many into family. She was always the first to offer help, lend an ear, or bring laughter to any room. Whether it was a bachelorette party in Nashville, standing as a bridesmaid, or celebrating a birthday with friends, Sam's presence was a gift to those who knew her.

Her loss leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her radiant spirit, her silly jokes, her unwavering love for her family, and the kindness she poured into the world every single day.
