Obituary

Shirley M. Downs (nee Waller), passed away on October 1st 2022. Shirley was born to Casey and Marie Waller (Payne) on November 3rd, 1939 in Steeleville Missouri. The family moved to St. Louis where she graduated from Wellston High School in 1957. Her career was in banking in customer service at Community Federal Savings and Loan where she retired after many years.

Shirley married Lyle L. Downs in September, 1958 and recently celebrated their 64th anniversary. She enjoyed social outings and shopping with friends she remained close to over many years and who were very much her extended family as well as spending as much time as possible at the lake. Shirley was passionate about her family spending time with 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren who were the love of her life and loved to spoil.
Shirley is survived by her husband Lyle, daughter Brenda (Mark), grandchildren Bryan (Valerie), Lindsay (Ryan), Kyle (Taven). great-grandchildren Nolan, Stevie, Lanie, Connor and Rosaria (Rosie).
Shirley was a friend to many and will truly be missed.
