Kiefer, Shirley P. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Sunday, December 12, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Merlin L. Kiefer; dearest mother of Cheryl, Anna (Maurice), Mark (Polly) and Rick; dear grandmother of 11; great-grandmother of 5. Our dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend of many.

She served as the sacristan for many years, setting up for Mass and caring for the linens, altar cloths, and candles, among other duties.  She voluntered in the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry at St. Rita, helping organize and prepare the packages provided to clients. She was a member of the Ladies Club and Legion of Mary.

She was known as the angel on the block shoveling neighbors sidewalks and steps when it snowed, taking out their trash cans on trash day, and holding their mail when they were on vacation until they returned. She watched many of the neighborhood children for their parents. She truly had a heart of gold

Funeral Monday, December 20, from COLLIER'S Funeral Home, 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd. (St. Ann) to St. Rita's Church for 10:00 AM Mass. Visitation Sunday, 4:00-8:00 PM.
