Stephen W.
Branstetter
Jun 16, 1948 — Apr 8, 2024
Stephen William Branstetter, of Wentzville, MO, unexpectedly passed away on April 8, 2024. Preceded in death by his parents Asa and Mary (nee: Callahan) Branstetter, father-in-law Norman Johnson, and many dear friends and extended relativities.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Tracey (nee: Johnson) Branstetter; his (4) four beautiful daughters: Christine, Taylor (Anthony Liccardi), Carly, and Hannah; his (3) three eldest children: Michael, Jeanne, and James; many grandchildren; siblings: David (Jill) Branstetter, John Branstetter, Carol (Jim) Eagan, Gail (the late Joe) Presswood, Bob (Beth) Branstetter, Sue (Tony) Fuller, and Joe (the late Tina) Branstetter; mother-in-law Ginger (John) Wilson, countless in-laws, along with numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
Steve was born June 16, 1948 in St. Charles, MO growing up in Woodson Terrace as the eldest of 8. As a young boy, he enjoyed playing every sport with his brothers and friends while spending the summers on the farm with his extended family. He graduated from Mercy High School at 16 in 1965. Steve held various careers throughout his life, including owning his own real estate company, Branstetter Realty, in the 70s and 80s then eventually starting his career as the Godfather of Mortgage in 1993. Throughout his time in mortgages, he helped thousands of people become homeowners working at Pulaski Bank and Stifel Bank & Trust.
Steve loved spending his time at the Lake of the Ozarks boating with his family and friends. He was an avid golfer enjoying his golf trips with his friends. Most importantly, he loved date night on the couch, holding hands with his wife; watching basketball with the kids; eating desserts with his favorite son-in-law, Tony; and shopping with his girls. His family (and his boat) were his everything.
Steve was the most loving and generous man anyone could ever meet. The world will be a little brighter with him looking over us. His memory will forever be in the hearts of those he touched, and all who had the opportunity to know Steve will dearly miss him.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to United Way or Caritas Connections in Steve's honor.
